T adopted a hippo for me. I don't collect hippos but my favorite Christmas song is "I Want a Hippopatumus for Christmas". Last year he got me a little plastic hippo, this year he went all out and got me a real hippo. How cool is that? I shall name her Bessie.

Early morning wake up call

I love my dog. I love my dog. I love my dog. Murdock woke me up at about 5 am this morning digging into my back. He must have thought I had hidden a bone up my ass or something which might be a more pleasant way to wake up. I'm grumpy.

Liquid Love

Say hello to my little pencil.

I just have to rave about my new "Never needs to be Sharpened" pencil by PenTech. It writes so smooth. It is like a ballpoint pen except it is liquid #2 lead...

It's awesome, although, I feel like a 4th grader when I am sitting in a business meeting taking notes with one of these, due to the bright-ass orange eraser top.

Haikus of the past

Chris does Monday haikus and that got me remembering when T had a blog so I dug up some that were contest entries on his blog years ago. His contest required that you had to use 3 words out of a list... some fo the words to choose from were: lemongrass, nurse, snow, defenestration, Ghandi, apple juice, luddite, London, speculum... Here are some of the entrants. Shannon's was the winner.

It's been a while...

We went to NY last week/end for a wedding... Not much else going on.. besides school and work.

I will be glad when this semester is over. Then I might blog more!

2 things to make note of that happened:
1. We went in search of T's scooter and I fell in love with one.. but it is way too hot here for me to justify buying one

2. On Taturday, my friend Will and I got tattoos...

Great news

My nephew had re-constructive surgery on his face a couple of days ago. It lasted about 7 hours and today he had surgery on his broken arm. He is doing well and breathing on his own. They are going to start taking him off of the sedatives and wake him up. H jaw is wired shut so he can't talk when he is awake but I am sure he will be happy to see everyone.

Last weekend

This past weekend was not a good one. My nephew was in a very bad accident. He is currently in critical condition with the following:

• fractured pelvis
• broken arm
• collapsed lungs
• broken rib
• swollen brain
• lacerations on the face which will require reconstructive surgery

He is on life support. The positive news, right now, is that his vitals are all stable.

I can only hope and pray that he pulls through.

LA was a blast this weekend. Here are some pics...

March Update

Next week I am flying to Indiana to visit my brothers. I think I am going to freeze!!

I am so excited, I just got my tickets for the Silversun Pickups. They rock so hard!

28 Years today

1979 was a good year.. so much better than the current. I haven't been posting much but I will try to post more often soon. School's been blech and life has been more blech. I am getting over being sick so once I am at 100% I hope to blog at least once a week. We'll see. Have a great 13th and an even better 14th!

Rest in Peace

My step-father, of the last 20 years, who has really been the only father I've ever known, passed away last Sunday. The visitation is tomorrow and the funeral is on Thursday... I am so scared. I am going to try to keep it together for my mom's sake but I really think that I am going to break down.
